Your Goals… Your Pace… Your Class.

JMSS is the premier swim school in North Texas for adult swimming lessons. Our small classes are designed for those with little or no experience in the water who want to become safer, build water confidence and enjoy recreational or fitness swimming.

Many adults are afraid of the water, or they have just never had the opportunity to learn to swim. You may be comfortable stepping into the shallow end but rely on floats or touching the sides and bottom of the pool to stay safe. Our experienced adult instructors patiently listen to your concerns and allow you to work at your own pace, encouraging you to progress when you’re ready.

Through a series of swim classes, you will learn to be comfortable in the water, to trust the water and how your body moves in an aquatic environment. After you’ve built your foundation of basic skills, we introduce you to beginning strokes. Our goal is for you to be a safer, more relaxed and confident swimmer and to have fun throughout the process.

Beginning Swimming 1

For those students who are new to swimming, you will learn to be comfortable in the water with the freedom to move at your own pace.  This small group class is taught by a specially trained adult instructor who works with each student at their level. Focusing on comfort and discovery rather than technique, you will learn to stay in control and will discover how your body and the water work together naturally. A few of the things we explore: buoyancy (floating), breathing, basic propulsion front, back and vertical, all while having fun! These skills are the foundation for learning strokes.
