Message from Coach Jimjim

I would like to thank all the families and friends of Jim Montgomery Swim School for your support in building a top notch family friendly swim school. The staff and I have come a long way since we opened the doors last January. The majority of our success thus far, is due to you spreading the word to your friends and neighbors. It is essential that we continue to receive your feedback so we can stay innovative and relevant by implementing your suggestions. Many of you have given us positive comments with our local survey cards which helps us expand our network of social media. But more importantly it helps us in our community outreach where our goal is to lead the way in offering positive impact programs like our Friday afternoon special needs classes.

We have received so much positive energy following the successful launch of the Jim Montgomery Swim School. I promise we will continue to improve, and with your help and support, place JMSS among the top swim schools in the country.

“My child has moved into a new level, what do I need to do?”*It is an exciting time for your student when they accomplish all of the skills in their current level. Please stop by the front desk to move your child’s current class. We are not able to move them until we have spoken with a parent.  More FAQ’s her

  swordfish-circleSailfish Swim Team News

It’s hard to believe that the fall swim season is already half over!  Last month JMSS Sailfish had a great showing at the JCC swim meet.  This was the first meet for many of the kids and they did a great job learning to have friendly competition with others while practicing their racing techniques.

This month’s meet is here at JMSS:

  • Monday, November 14th
  • Warm-up 4:30pm : Swim Meet 5:00-6:00pm

Please confirm participation with coach Chris via email by Friday, November 11.

As we move though the fall we are going to fine tune all the strokes, swim longer distances, and focus on efficiency. Read more here

JMSS BEGParents: What if YOU don’t know how to swim?

Parents bring their young children to swimming lessons to learn a valuable and life-saving skill.  But what if the parent doesn’t know how to swim or is afraid of water?  Statistics say that more than 50% of adults are not comfortable in water where they can’t stand up, and worry how they would handle an emergency with their child in the pool.  Some steps to success:

  • Don’t impart your fear of water to your child, but practice healthy caution around water.
  • Do bring your child to swim lessons and provide opportunities to swim safe and often.
  • Do take an adult swim class.  If you never learned how to swim as a kid, or your skills are minimal, it’s never too late to start!

JMSS offers adult classes and private lessons specially designed for beginners.  Exclusive adult pool time and small, self-paced groups allow for comfort and fun while learning to swim.  Read more here
